Veteran Musician Writes Chronicle of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Everyman in Flapjacks for Breakfast
New Fiction Novella Details the Birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll in ArkLa Tex

For Immediate Release - Froggy Bottom, Louisiana - W3VERITAE, a publishing house focusing on material for the World Wide Web, introduces their first novella Flapjacks for Breakfast: A Brief Personal History of Sex, Drugs & Rock and Roll. This new release is the third book by author Bob Ed Radley and is available in paperback and e-book format.

Flapjacks for Breakfast chronicles the life of Billy Fred Pickett, the “everyman of rock ‘n’ roll,” as he loses his innocence growing up as a fanatical follower of country legend Hank Williams while chasing his rock ‘n’ roll dream across the United States. Main character Pickett finds himself traveling from beer joint to cheap bar trying to discover the true meaning of music and becoming a part of the mystique that is rock ‘n’ roll.

The development of rock ‘n’ roll and its mirror effect of the human condition play an integral part in Flapjacks for Breakfast. The story begins in the ArkLaTex (the mostly rural junction of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas) and proves to the reader that the rock n’ roll of today has roots all over the country, not just in the Hollywood music studios.

Billy Fred Picket represents the thousands of anonymous musicians who shaped music history in total obscurity.

Flapjacks for Breakfast offers a realistic look at the sometimes graphic experiences that shape the works of artists and musicians. As Pickett learns, musical creativity is often a direct result of an artist’s angst and suffering.

“Flapjacks for Breakfast is the funniest tragedy ever written,” notes author Bob Ed Radley. “For lovers of rock ‘n’ roll, this book can offer an inside look at the story of thousands of musicians chasing a dream who ultimately defined the music we love. The setting in the ArkLaTex, reveals a much ignored fact about rock ‘n’ roll, that it was invented in the ArkLaTex by men just like Billy Fred Pickett, just as much as in Memphis by the Sun Records pioneers.”

Bob Ed Radley currently resides in Froggy Bottom, Louisiana, and has more than 20 years of experience as a musician and more than 30 years experience as a professional writer. Radley maintains a personal blog website at www.MentalMovie.com. Flapjacks for Breakfast is visible on Bowker’s BooksInPrint.com and is available for purchase through amazon.com, booksurge.com and the publisher’s website www.w3veritae.com.
