New Book, Mending My Wings: A Story of Personal Growth, Offers Encouraging Story about the Importance of Self-Esteem

For Immediate Release - Minneapolis, Minnesota - Self-published author Beverly Sahin today announced the publication of Mending My Wings: A Story of Personal Growth, a title in the autobiography, memoir, and self-help categories. This is Sahin’s first book.
Mending My Wings follows Sahin through a lifetime of struggles that had led to damaged emotions and a broken spirit. Ultimately, however, Mending My Wings is a story of breakthrough and self-actualization, showing readers that life is not predestined and that with effort and the proper tools of thought, one can overcome and prosper.

Even in childhood, Sahin felt unloved and often dispensable. Her parents offered little to no emotional support and there was no love shown in the home. As a young adult, her misfortune continues in poor choices of men, as her serious relationships let her down again and again. Sahin navigated herself through hard times as she discovered one after another the insights and ideas she needed in order to learn to value herself and make life “work” for her. Mending My Wings demonstrates to readers the importance of self-esteem and how life can change when one has a healthy dose of it.

Sahin’s principles can apply to both a personal view of oneself and as a guide to proper parenting. Mending My Wings teaches that helping children figure out and celebrate who they are, validating a child’s feelings, and providing consistent emotional support are a few of the most important things one can do for a child. Through carefully guided practice, children can grow into making their own well-informed decisions.

“Throughout the course of my life, I was helped by the works of several fine authors,” said Ms. Sahin. “I wanted to share my journey in Mending My Wings so that others could learn from my experiences. The turning point in my life was learning precisely what self-esteem is, so that I could build up my own and develop it in my children; and I am honored to help others, including parents, with their journey.”

Author Beverly Sahin was born in Des Moines, Iowa and now currently resides in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She studied in Europe before holding numerous jobs in the financial industry. Sahin is now retired and exploring new interests. Mending My Wings is listed in Bowker’s Books In Print and is available for purchase at www.itascabooks.com as well as at www.amazon.com. It should become available at Ingram and Baker and Taylor by mid-September. For additional information, visit www.BookWire.com to read an author biography.
