New Novel Renegotiating Kayla Explores Side Effects of Sexual Abuse
Abuse, Victimization, and Redemption in new novel, Renegotiating Kayla, by Miami Based Publisher

For Immediate Release - Miami, Florida - Big Mouth Publishing today announced the release of Renegotiating Kayla, the second book by author Natisha R. Williams. Renegotiating Kayla is a fiction novel based on real-life child abuse effects witnessed by the author.

Williams brings the reader into the life of main character, Kayla Ross, a 26-year old struggling to overcome a childhood filled with sexual abuse. Kayla’s emotional scares from childhood are continuing to haunt her life years after the abuse, ultimately creating barriers blocking her from successful interpersonal relationships. Renegotiating Kayla follows her path to emotional wellness -- going from victim to survivor by the end of the novel.

Renegotiating Kayla aims to show those who have experienced sexual abuse (either personally or as a supporter of a survivor) how the after effects of abuse can linger for years in unexpected ways. Williams is interested in encouraging those involved to not run away from emotional situations, but instead confront the past hurt and pain and to ultimately regain control of their lives. In the end, Williams shows Kayla gaining strength, courage, and leadership; and readers will be inspired by her journey to happiness.

“For years, I have been watching survivors of abuse unknowingly fall victim to the after effects of their tragedies,” said author Natisha R. Williams. “I wrote Renegotiating Kayla because I wanted to bring to light what I see from the outside that perhaps those affected are unable to see from the inside. My goal is to motivate survivors to take ‘time-out’ and assess the damage, then influence them to take a stand towards regaining control of their lives. Renegotiating Kayla will help destroy any taboos barricading the issue of child sexual abuse. Anyone who has been abused or knows a survivor will benefit from reading this book.”

Author Natisha R. Williams was born in St. Thomas of the United States Virgin Islands and has been residing in Miami, Florida for nine years. Williams is founder and president of Big Mouth Publishing and has also published a poetry book entitled Big Mouth. Renegotiating Kayla is listed in Bowker’s Books In Print and is available for purchase at www.tisharenee.com.
